Light before ground. Sound before sky. A place alive with thought and feeling, where memory shaped itself into form. Spirals of gold and crystal pulsed through the air. Patterns hummed. Souls drifted like fireflies, weaving, stretching, unraveling, then returning to the current that held them all. One glowed brighter than the rest. Ha Tu.

He did not walk. He moved through the crystal lattice as vibration, his awareness flowing wherever he directed it. He needed no eyes to see, no lungs to breathe, and no body to separate him from the light surrounding him. Beyond the lattice, a distant world turned beneath a veil of blue and white. Ha Tu drew closer to it.

The Earth had called to him for many cycles, faint at first, then with an ache he could no longer ignore. Consciousnesses gathered along the boundary of its physical realm, pressing toward the bodies forming there. They longed to enter matter, to experience weight, touch, hunger, warmth, and breath. Yet each descent carried a terrible consequence. The moment consciousness entered flesh, its awareness narrowed. The body demanded attention. Hunger called. Pain shouted. Fear pulled the soul deeper into the form until the memory of its origin became little more than a distant longing.

Ha Tu watched another consciousness disappear into a forming body. Its light dimmed.

“The connection is too weak.”

Several beings turned toward him. Their colors shifted as concern passed through the lattice. One moved into his path.

“Wait, Ha Tu.”

He looked beyond the being, continuing to study the distant planet.

“The souls are entering without support.”

A second presence drew closer, its light tightening with alarm.

“The Earth is not ready.”

Ha Tu felt another consciousness begin its descent.

“The Earth is already receiving them.”

Ha Tu extended his awareness toward the crowded boundary surrounding the physical world. Countless presences waited there, their longing pressing against matter.

The being before him watched another soul descend.

“They do not understand what will happen.”

“They understand enough to desire experience.”

“Desire is not readiness.”

Ha Tu turned toward the speaker.

“Then the form must be made ready for them.”

Another presence moved closer, its light trembling with urgency.

“You are not ready.”

Ha Tu’s brightness sharpened.

“I have studied the bodies being used during this period.”

“You have observed them from beyond.”

“I have followed the pathways of their nerves. I have studied the movement of breath, the rhythm of blood, and the chambers of the brain.”

Concern darkened the being’s light.

“You know their structure. You do not know what it means to live inside one.”

Ha Tu looked back toward Earth.

“The body is a pattern. Patterns can be changed.”

“Matter is not light.”

“It responds to vibration.”

“It also resists it.”

“Then I will bring the form into harmony.”

The others gathered more closely around him. Their voices fell through the lattice as threads of color, each warning carrying a different tone.

“You have never known hunger.”

“I have observed its effect.”

“You have never felt pain.”

“I understand its frequency.”

“You have never drawn breath because your life depended upon it.”

“The body can be altered so consciousness remains attentive through breath.”

“You believe awareness will protect you.”

“The awareness is with me.”

A ripple passed through the gathered beings. The eldest among them moved forward. Its light did not flare with anger. It dimmed with sorrow.

“That certainty is what frightens us.”

Ha Tu faced the elder.

“I have come from a planet far beyond this one with the express intent of creating links between consciousness and its point of origin. The bodies being used now cannot maintain that connection. I can change them.”

“Can you?”

“Yes.”

The elder drifted nearer until its light touched his.

“To enter is to forget.”

The words moved through the lattice and silenced every surrounding tone. Ha Tu looked again toward the distant Earth.

“Then I will create a form that remembers.”

“You cannot command matter as you command light.”

“I will not command it. I will adjust its resonance.”

“And when the senses open?”

“They will support the awareness.”

“When hunger rises?”

“The link will remain.”

“When pain becomes the whole of existence?”

“I will remain attentive.”

The elder’s light deepened.

“To enter is to forget, Ha Tu. Remember this.”

Ha Tu held the warning within himself.

“I will remember.”

Another being reached for him.

“Do not enter the form yourself.”

“The link must be tested.”

“Send only a thread of awareness.”

“That is my intention.”

“And if the form draws in more than you offer?”

“I will withdraw.”

“If the pathway closes?”

“It will not.”

“Ha Tu.”

He turned toward the voice. The being who had first stopped him hovered near the edge of the lattice.

“You may remember the Source now. Inside the body, you may not even remember your name.”

Ha Tu paused. For one moment, the cries surrounding Earth faded beneath the love and fear of those gathered around him. Then the distant longing rose again.

“I cannot leave them without a bridge.”

The beings slowly opened a path. None blessed his journey. None celebrated his purpose. As Ha Tu passed between them, the elder’s warning followed.

“To enter is to forget.”

Ha Tu moved beyond the lattice.

“I will remember.”

Stars opened around him as vast fields of vibration. Their songs passed through his awareness while he crossed distances that no physical vessel could travel. He followed Earth’s call until the blue world filled his perception. Below him, a civilization shone beside the sea. Atlantis.

It had entered the third cycle of its history. Crystal towers rose from terraces of white stone, catching sunlight and carrying it through the city in streams of blue, silver, and gold. Water flowed through narrow channels cut into the streets. Bridges curved between temples. Deep beneath the city, chambers had been built to amplify thought and sound. The Atlanteans understood that everything began with pattern. Their builders used vibration to shape stone. Their healers sent measured frequencies through flesh and bone. Their priests directed light through crystal chambers where thought became visible.

Still, their bodies could not preserve the memory of the Source. Ha Tu descended through the highest temple and passed unseen among them. He studied the forms they inhabited, following the silver pathways of their nerves and the changing rhythm of their organs. The human body fascinated him.

It was fragile, yet intricately connected. Bone carried vibration. Flesh remembered touch. Emotion changed the movement of breath. A single fearful thought could quicken the heart, tighten the muscles, and alter every system within the form. Yet survival ruled it. The brain gathered the world through five narrow openings. Sight, sound, touch, taste, and scent fed the physical mind until it accepted only what the senses revealed.

Ha Tu passed his awareness through the skull of a sleeping Atlantean.

“The form can hold consciousness,” he murmured, “but it cannot hold the full memory of its origin.”

He descended into the oldest portion of the temple. There, beneath layers of stone and water, he found a circular chamber built from pale crystal. Its curved walls gathered vibration and directed it toward a stone platform at the center. Upon that platform rested an unfinished form.

It had been shaped from the living substance of the Earth. Its limbs folded toward its chest. Its skin appeared almost translucent beneath the crystal light. A faint pulse opened and closed within its heart, sustained by the frequencies moving through the chamber. The form had no name. It possessed no memory.

No consciousness had entered it. Ha Tu moved around the platform, examining the body from every direction. Beneath the flesh, the bones shone as pale lines. The nervous system glimmered like silver threads. The organs waited in silence, capable of life but not yet awakened to it. He raised his hands over the form.

“I am Ha Tu, here from a planet very far away, with the express intent of creating links between consciousness and its point of origin.”

The surrounding crystals answered with a low tone.

“I have come to the civilization known as Atlantis during the third cycle of its history.”

Light gathered around his fingers.

“My divine duty moves me to create this form.”

Ha Tu lowered his hands toward the base of the spine.

“First, the wavelength resonance patterns must be adjusted within the body.”

The lowest pathways appeared before him. Their vibrations were uneven, designed to carry sensation toward the brain but unable to transmit awareness beyond the physical form. Ha Tu touched the first pathway. The silver thread brightened.

The body jerked upon the platform. Ha Tu steadied the pattern with both hands.

“Every movement must be exact. Every thought perfected.”
